A reminder from the past about the future

Stumbled into an old second hand book shop during my holidays in Athens last week and found myself a first edition (1974) of the book "2020 vision" by Jerry Pournelle.

The cover art caught my eye in the first place but it's the introduction that convinced to take it home.

"... but science fiction can build realistic scenarios that show what might happen, as a result of decisions that are made today.".

Even though this book was written in the 70s, these words couldn't be more relevant today.
