Headless is the way
Lately a lot of tools are "going headless".
Headless used to mean a CMS without a front end. In SaaS right now it means something close to that. The product stays, and the UI stops being the only way to use it.
Amplitude, Braze and Klaviyo have all adopted the word recently, each with their own packaging. In practice you work with the tool from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through MCP, and the vendor's interface becomes one client among several.
It is more important than it sounds because for most of SaaS history the UI was the product. Now headless seems to be an additional gate that's opening up for all of them.
