Horus Heresy Reading Guide on Github

I used AI to get access to The Warp.

Two years ago I fell head first into the grim darkness of Warhammer 40K lore. My first book was Fifteen Hours by Mitchel Scanlon, then Horus Rising by the mighty Dan Abnett took me prisoner for good. I've been fighting through the Horus Heresy ever since.

The problem is that the Heresy runs 54 volumes before you even reach the gates of Terra. That's a long campaign. Reviews are mixed on half of it, and it's not always clear which volumes actually earn their place in the line. There are other campaigns I want to march through too in this lifetime.

So how do I get the best of this saga without wasting time on books that aren't actually contributing to the plot?

I did what any nerd with AI in his hands would do. Evaluated which books were key to the saga by sifting through the community's own reports. I compiled a spine - the volumes that actually matter, with the worthwhile side campaigns slotted in at the right hour.
